Sara Loyd
Sara Loyd is a Chicago-area fashion artist. Her artistic style of using simple, colorful, and graphic characteristics is heavily influenced by her late Grandfather, Rick Fletcher, who was an artist for the comic strip, Dick Tracy. Growing up in the 1980s, the perpetual exposure of soap operas, new wave music, and boundary-pushing fashion also cultivated her adult aesthetics. Sara's fashion art synthesizes her early influences and modern day style through the development of fictional comic-esque feminine characters. Each creation is named, and described with a candid anecdote. The characters are adorned with Sara's avant-garde couture designs, whilst mimicking high-end fashion editorial poses.
